What you may do
- Use the app, free of charge, for your own academic or non-profit research lab, course, school team or core facility, once your request has been approved.
- Change anything: settings, catalog, forms, and the code itself. Add features, remove features, rebrand it for your group.
- Share your copy, and your changes, with people inside your own group (for example, other members of your lab or the students and TAs of your course).
- Send your improvements back to us, if you would like them considered for a future version. Sending them gives the Chory Lab permission to include them, with credit if you want it.
What we ask you not to do
- Do not share the template link, your copy, or the code with people outside your group. Point them to the request form instead, so each group is approved and counted.
- Do not sell the app or a modified version, or offer it as a paid or hosted service.
- Do not remove the copyright line from the app or present it as your own original work. You may add your own name for your changes.
- Duke starter pack: the Duke price list and codes are for Duke groups only. Do not share them outside Duke.
No warranty
The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is a tool from one research lab, not a supported product. You are responsible for your own data, for checking orders against your institution's rules, and for keeping your copy working. The Chory Lab and Duke University are not liable for any loss, cost or damage from using it.
Your data
Everything your group enters stays in your own Google account. Your copy sends nothing to the Chory Lab. What we do with the information on your request form is described on the main page.
Changes and access
We may update these terms for future versions. We can stop sharing the template with an account at any time, for example if these terms are not followed. A copy you have already made remains yours to use and change under the terms you agreed to. No take-backs.
